As a mother, Debbie understood the importance of fostering critical thinking and inquisitiveness in her children, and of inspiring in them an interest in learning. In 2000, Debbie established Science Workshop to share her experience with fellow parents and to provide high quality extra-curricular education to children in Hong Kong.
Through adopting this philosophy in her children’s education, they have excelled not only in their studies but have become passionate and well-rounded individuals. Her son graduated from Exeter in 2012 and is currently at University of Pennsylvania (Penn). His achievements include: winner of the Concerto Competition and First Prize in Exeter’s Music Department last year. He is currently the First Chair of the Wind Ensemble at University of Pennsylvania and is a varsity bicyclist. Debbie’s daughter is at Milton Academy, USA and is an accomplished photographer and artist.
Debbie is actively involved with her alma maters. Since 1987, she has helped with admission-related activities for Penn since and is current Chair responsible for Hong Kong and Southern China. From 2006-2011, she was the President for Phillips Exeter Academy’s Hong Kong Alumni Association; and is currently the Admissions Representative for Hong Kong and China.
Debbie founded Ace Academy as a direct result of the many requests for advice from parents who were looking to send their children abroad. Debbie will draw on her vast experience and network of fellow education specialists to guide students and their parents through the schools application process.
